Responsible Medical Device Manufacturing

Sustainability at Morrisons Lifecare
Protecting People. Protecting the Planet.

At Morrisons Lifecare, we believe that manufacturing medical devices responsibly means more than meeting a certification standard. It means taking care of the environment our communities live in, treating every person in our supply chain with dignity, and building a company that future generations can be proud of.

Sustainability is not a department at Morrisons Lifecare. It is a commitment that runs through every decision we make from how we source raw materials, to how we power our facilities, to how we support the communities around us.

Our Three Areas of Focus

We organise our sustainability commitment around three pillars — Environment, People, and Patient Safety. Each one is essential. None can be sacrificed for the other.

Environment

Manufacturing Responsibly for the Planet

Single-use medical devices are essential for patient safety. But we recognise that single-use products carry an environmental responsibility.

We take that responsibility seriously and we are actively working to reduce the environmental footprint of everything we make.

Emissions and Energy

We are committed to reducing energy consumption across all three manufacturing facilities in Tamil Nadu. We are actively evaluating renewable energy sources including solar installations and working toward net-zero emissions in our operations.

Waste Reduction

We maintain a clear goal of zero manufacturing waste to landfill through responsible segregation, recycling, certified disposal, and process optimisation.

Packaging

We continuously review packaging materials and reduce unnecessary layers while maintaining product sterility and patient safety without compromise.

Water Stewardship

We monitor water usage across facilities, implement recycling where possible, and maintain responsible water management practices.

Medical Waste and Disposal

All manufacturing waste is disposed of through certified and legally compliant channels, with disposal guidance shared with distribution partners.

People

Our Team, Our Communities, Our Partners

Sustainability is not only about the environment. It is about the people who make our products, the communities where we operate, and the partners we work with globally.

Our Workforce

We are committed to fair wages, safe working conditions, continuous professional development, and full compliance with Indian labour regulations.

Workplace Safety

Our facilities operate under strict safety protocols, regular audits, and a culture where every employee can raise safety concerns confidently.

Community Impact

We prioritise local employment, support local suppliers, and remain committed to growing responsibly within Tamil Nadu communities.

Ethical Supply Chain

We work only with suppliers who meet our standards for quality, labour rights, environmental compliance, and ethical business practices.

Patient Safety

The Reason We Exist

Every sustainability decision we make is ultimately connected to patient safety at the end of the supply chain.

Single-use sterile medical devices exist because they protect patients. We manufacture them because we believe every patient in every country, in every hospital, at every income level deserves that protection.

Single-Use Sterile Manufacturing: Manufacturing every product as single-use and sterile no exceptions, no compromises.
ISO 13485:2016 Quality Systems: Maintaining certified quality systems across all facilities to ensure consistent manufacturing standards.
Multi-Stage Quality Testing: Conducting physical, chemical, biological, and microbiological testing before shipment.
Full Batch Traceability: Complete traceability across the production cycle for rapid response and quality control.
Distribution Partner Support: Providing product handling, storage, and end-of-life disposal guidance for patient safety beyond manufacturing.

Our Commitment to International Standards

Sustainability in medical device manufacturing is increasingly tied to global regulatory and procurement standards. Hospitals, governments, and healthcare procurement bodies around the world are raising their expectations of suppliers and we welcome that.

Our current certifications - ISO 13485:2016, WHO-GMP, CDSCO, and CE Mark already reflect a commitment to manufacturing standards that protect both patients and the environment.

We continue to review emerging international sustainability frameworks and work toward alignment with globally recognised standards.

For international distribution partners, we provide documentation on environmental practices, labour standards, and quality systems as part of supplier qualification and procurement processes.
